AURORA - Complete!

Yes, I'm very proud to say that yesterday, 18th October 2009 (Kia's birthday, lol), I finished a complete full first draft of Aurora. Don't get too excited yet, as I have a lot of editing to do and a professional editor to find, but still, damn, it's written! I wrote a novel! *beams*

Here are final stats on the complete draft:

* Title: Corona Borealis: Aurora
* Started: August 2008
* Completed: 18th October 2009
* Chapters: 45 [inc. prologue/epilogue]
* Word Count: 164,669
* Page Count: 723 [in Bookman Old Style, size 12]

Phew. *wipes brow* As my stepdad said, "Thus ends a long, long struggle."

I've thoroughly enjoyed writing this novel and I very much hope I can now hone it to perfection. Thank you very much to all of you for your support so far -- you guys have been such a huge encouragement! *-* I think I could be able to do a full self-edit within the next two weeks, so expect more news soon . . .

I bet that feels good, especially to get the first draft done. Good luck on self-editing and finding a professional editor. To let you know, if it goes to the US market, it would be edited in American English due to some difference in spelling/terminology.

You finished the draft, awesome! Thought it might be a little silly to say this, but hey! Take a break, you derserve it after months of hard work! =)
Take your time in completing the rest of editing and finding. And don't worry, all of us are supporting you and looking forward to your fabulous work. Keep it up! At the end of it all, the feeling of success will be well worth all the pain and effort you put in.

Yes, I was expecting that, as the book is written in English (United Kingdom). ^^ I imagine the same was done for books like Harry Potter.

They did it for Harry Potter. I have a basic understanding of the UK English terminology as one of my favorite authors was British (Dickens)

You did it!! *does an happy dance* the biggest part of the work is done!! And...723 pages in only a year of work!! That's fantastic!
As Ariella27 said, you really deserve a break after this work. Don't worry and take your time to edit and find a good publisher. I'm sure Aurora will be a best seller!
